Indigo History

This is the story of Indigo Streak...........

Around October time in the year of 2004, 2 guys, Ben Perry and Tom Figg, decided to form a band. Ben had been playing the Piano for 7 years previously, and Tom was really up and coming on the drums, so they got together one night after school and started playing.

For months and months they searched for the right members, trying different styles of playing, but nothing seemed to be working. meanwhile Jack Clayton and Gabz Beckett were really insterested in what Ben and Tom were doing, and regularly came along after school to watch, and help Ben and Tom pick members.

Nothing was working, until Jack started learning bass guitar, and Ben picked up a guitar. Both took to their new instruments really quickly, and Ben was coming up with some really catchy riffs on the guitar, so it was decided Ben should also play guitar for the band.

A few months later, Ben and Tom were amazed at Jacks progress, and welcomed him into The 'Streak, and it was hot. The trio were churning out riffs, beats, basslines, but there was still that one vital position that needed filling, the vocalist.

This is where we thought we'd found our man, Gabz was really good on stage, and gave us a really punky, rocky edge. In the end it didnt work out, Gabz leaving the band. It was left with the 3, not really knowing what to do, it was first thought that Tom would sing and drum, but if he did that, he wouldnt be able to put full effort into either! So both Ben and Jack tried singin, and it was decided that Ben would sing. Since this choice, the 'streaks direction has changed considerably, with the band playing much more musical songs, and they are all very happy with the way the band is progressing, and we hope you will be too!

Indigo Streak now march forward hand in hand with a sound that has indie, pop, rock and funk elements in its musical soul. The trio continue to write new songs for your listening pleasure and keep walking to a positive and bright future.
